Youth Retreat 2025
Dear Students and Parents,
We are excited to announce that Waldron PCG will be hosting its very first Youth Retreat! This event promises to be a time of growth, fellowship, and fun for all our students. We are so excited to be bringing you and your child this opportunity, and our event is just around the corner. (May 2- May 4th) We wanted to take a moment and fill you in on our theme and share with you what this retreat will look like. We would also like to ask you to begin praying for us as we head into this meaningful time in the life of our youth ministry.
The theme for our event is “Unidentified: Uncovering the Truth of Who We Really Are.” We all crave some sort of identity. We all feel the need for something that will give us worth, value, importance, and significance. But more often than not, we struggle with feeling the opposite.
You don’t have to spend much time around teenagers to realize that they’re desperately searching for an identity. They’re no strangers to the fact that they need a place to belong, to be known, to be identified. They try to fill that void with a bunch of different things – what they do, say, think, wear, who they date, where they go…you get the point. But the problem is that those things will never satisfy their need for an identity. Nothing this world can offer ever will.
The truth is that the only place they, or any of us, will ever find true, meaningful identity is in Jesus. God created us all in His image, so we originally had an eternal, purposeful identity in Him. However, our sin has stolen that identity and separated us from Him, branding us as unidentified people. But all throughout the Bible, we can see the great news that Jesus has come to take the identity of sinners upon Himself so that we can be re-identified in Him. Through faith and by His grace, God gives us new hearts so that we can have real belonging, true life, a new purpose, a new meaning, and a new, righteous identity in Christ.
THE RETREAT INFO:
The retreat will begin on Friday evening, May 2nd, with drop-off starting at 5:00 PM. As students check in, we will provide a meal in the Multi-Purpose Building. At 7:00 PM, we will kick off the retreat with our first Large Group Meeting, featuring a surprise guest speaker. Afterward, we’ll enjoy fellowship, break into small group sessions, and conclude the night with a lock-in.
FEAR NOT! Boys and girls will be staying in separate buildings, and our trusted leaders will be on watch throughout the evening to ensure safety and support.
On Saturday, the retreat will begin with breakfast, followed by an opening Large Group Session with our speaker. Then, we’ll break into small groups for games, group sessions, lunch, recreation time, and dinner. Afterward, we will come together for an evening worship service. Parents will pick up their children at the conclusion of the Saturday night worship service.
On Sunday, we invite you to join us for a Family Service to conclude the weekend retreat. This service will be a wonderful opportunity for you to learn alongside your child and celebrate the greatness of God together.
We look forward to seeing your child at the retreat and to the powerful experience we will have as a youth group!
